Peril on the Atlantic

The most interesting characters in the book were Sonny and Alice. This is because they take risks which make this book have a lot of drama and challenges. In one specific part, Sonny was having trouble with breathing, but he threw a camera towards the Blakes because they were going to shoot Alice!
I really liked all the characters, but I did not really like the Blakes since they pushed Joseph and almost killed him. Another reason is that they tried to slow down the ship so it would not win the blue-ribbon race.
I did not really learn anything new about the past, but I know that the story was based ion a true story. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend because it has drama, suspense and everything that is perfect. I loved this book so much and it is the best book I have read. I loved all of the book and enjoyed every single word!

This exciting book is set on the Queen Mary, a real ship which is about to cross the Atlantic in 1936. The main character, Alice, is bursting with excitement as she boards the ship, excited to set sail and explore the world on board the famous ship, with it’s famous passengers, animals and shops to explore. Alice is also excited as the ship is taking part in a very important race, and her father (second in command on the ship) is working to ensure the Queen Mary wins.
But sinister characters, Mr and Mrs Blake and Mr Lewis are trying to sabotage the crossing between England and America. Alice becomes determined to stop them. My favourite character was Sonny because he leaks a lot of secrets about himself like that his real name is Huddson and that his grandfather owned diamond shipping company! Very different from Alice’s background, but they both team up to solve the mystery of who is behind the mysterious events on board, not easy when there are so many lies told by the adults on the ship. The friendship between the two grows, despite their different backgrounds.
This book was very well described, making me feel like I was on board this ship and I learnt so much about what it was like to live during this era. I liked the fact that a lot of it was based on fact.
Mysteries are not my favourite genre, but this story was so full of twists and turns, and jam packed full of action, it kept me gripped until the huge plot twist at the end, and I would highly recommend it!
