The Eagle Trail was one of the best written and most thought-provoking books I've ever read. I was so obsessed with this book as it was endlessly entertaining from start to finish. I also think the history is very realistic, especially because in the book people were shot and arrested and that is what happened in World War 2. I recommend this book for children my age to read.

2. This amazing tale is about a young Belgian boy named Paul Hansel who unfailingly needs to get to the safety of England during World War Two. The story starts with Paul witnessing the death of his father and then finding out his mother has been taken away by the Nazi's. It is then that Paul's escape begins and he meets people of different cultures who are supposed to help him make his way to England safely.

I really enjoyed this fantastic story because of the action and suspense filled scenes, there were so many near death situations it always had me on the edge of my seat. This book is also very historically realistic; I thought the author created a really vivid picture describing the world during World War Two. I thought Paul Hansel, the main character, had a very brave and persistent attitude because even though he was attacked several times he didn't give up he kept on travelling - he stood out in the story and was a great character.

In the future I hope to see even more stories written by this unbelievably talented author.

3. The Eagle Trail is a fast paced, action packed book. It follows a magnificent journey across Europe through Belgium and beyond. Full of mystery, the main character Paul, travels to escape Nazi occupation.

This journey is extremely hard for Paul as he is the son of the Head of the Resistance. Many German enemies are looking for him and much suspense is created. This allows for a trail of excitement to build up behind Paul.

Paul uses many forms of transport to get to his final destination, which we are not sure he will ever reach. The journey set in scenery, described so beautifully, makes the reader feel that you are travelling alongside Paul on his quest to freedom, and we are always connecting with his struggles.

One of the modes of transport that Paul takes is a train. This is my favourite part of the book as Paul is alone and meets an unexpected foe. What happens demonstrates his strength of character and builds up to a climax, making it one of the most exciting parts of the book.

The only weak part of the story is that it heavily relies on the reader knowing their history.The odd fact is revealed but ultimately, to fully understand what is going on, you need more background information than is given.

There are many riveting characters within the book making me want to know their backstory. One of these characters is a man called Henri. He is the main person to help and influence Paul on his journey. Through his determination and wits he figures out who the traitor really is.

The Eagle Trail leaves you wanting more. The story ends on a high, yet a cliffhanger with many unanswered questions. I can't wait for the next instalment. Aimed at eleven to sixteen year olds, this book is definitely one I will be recommending.

4. It was set in Europe during WW2. The main character was called Paul (a young boy ) and it starts off with him and his family.

I really enjoyed this book and I found it extremely intriguing, adventurous and exciting but I also found it a bit scary e.g. when Yvette was suddenly dead in her chair.

I particularly liked the plot and I thought it was very clever e.g. when they found out the identity of the traitor and how Henri ( the man who helped Paul to get to the mountains safely) finally realised what was going on and went up to the mountains to get to the bottom of it.

I think that the history in this book is realistic because it was set in WW2 and back in the time there were real life situations like this one.

This book made me more intrigued in history but I wouldn't really go and find out more information.

I would want to read more of his books and see if I like it.

I have never heard of this author so I am glad that I have read this book as now I can discover more of his wonderful books.

I couldn't put the book down as it was so interesting and I always wanted to know what would happen next...

I would recommend this book 9+

5. Every  character expresses his/her emotions . It is action packed and gripping .

The only thing wrong  with it is  that there are a lot of complicated words that are powerful but tricky .  

My favourite character is a priest that has a passion for cars .His name is father Lagarde . He too expresses  his emotions throughout the book .

The main character is a boy called Paul . When his father is shot and his mother is captured by German soldiers Paul has no choice but  too travel too France  to live  with a family his parents knew .     3/5

6. The Eagle Trail is a book by Robert Rigby. It is about a brave boy called Paul. Set in world war 2 when the Nazis were occupying places.

I enjoyed the book very much because there was a wide range of characters from an ex racing driving priest to a fiery tempered young girl. This book was a book that I couldn't put down.

My favourite character is Paul because he is brave and determined. He will carry on throughout anything and no mysterious problems will stop him from carrying on.

The history was realistic in this book. I think the author had researched this time. He was able to set the scene in this time. I felt like I was in the story.

The book made me want to learn more about this time because I could imagine the future for Paul. If I knew more about Belgium during and after the war then I could relate to Paul's feelings.

I wouldn't choose to read another book by this author because I enjoyed this book because of the time it was set in and the research of the time. I can't imagine reading another book set in a different time and not as much research.

This was a mysterious and gory adventure story. I would recommend this book to lots of people including YOU! I rate this a 9/10!

7. The eagle trail is an extraordinary and fascinating book Paul Heroux is on the risky road to safety and has some close and distance friends to help him . Will he succeed his mission? Will the German's capture him? WW2 is on the palm of Britain's hand .

In this book I feel like a detective trying to guess my way through the mystery maze . I have lots of mixed emotions to make a big emotion , like mixing flower and sugar to make a big cake . I think the author could of used a bit more explanation , because to me it felt the author didn't use that much. Except from that I would defiantly recommend this book and rate it: 5/5
