Runaway
By Marie-Louise Jenson
1. Runaway was very exciting and dramatic and made me want to keep reading to find out more secrets and see how the characters solved all the problems. I really liked Charlotte as she was strong and brave, even pretending to be a boy to try to escape and overcome her problems! It was strange to see women viewed in a totally different way to now and this took away from the romance of the book which was a shame but there was a lovely romance between Charlie and Lawrence which was so sweet. There was lots of action from the start which was good as it kept things intriguing so you wanted to find out what was going to happen. I also learned more about horses and how stables were run in the past which was really interesting and made me want to find out more about this time. I would recommend this book as it was really absorbing with lots of adventure.
2. I really enjoyed reading the book 'Runaway' because there is a lot of mystery and secrets so you are constantly thinking about what problems will arise next and are the characters actually who they say they are. I liked the character Charlotte and how she had to hide the fact that she is a girl and had to overcome problems she faced by pretending to be a boy. Her working in the stables was also a good idea because it portrayed how the stables ran and how people were treated as a result of hierarchy. This book made me want to find out more about the stables and how they worked back then. I would definitely read more books by Marie-Louise Jensen as she informs you about history in an interesting way. Overall, I really liked the book and how it went almost straight into the action. I also like all the secret identities that are uncovered throughout the book and there is always a problem that Charlie is trying to resolve. The book is intriguing and makes you want to read more so I would recommend reading it.

5. This is the first time I have read any books by this author and I would recommend it to my friends. I liked the historical description of the servant's quarters and stables. My favourite character is Charlie as she is clever. The pace is good and with some twists in the plot.
I have found out that this author has also written a book called ‘Smuggler's Kiss' and I think I want to read it. 9.5/10

6. This is a gripping book its very different to other books and it has lots of detail on things that were happening from the very beginning because it doesn't give what's happening before everything happens it says "we'll be safe here Charlie" which is straight away into the main story a great story. 8/10
