Helen Snelson has been a history teacher in Yorkshire for 20 years, a Head of History for 12 years and since 2011 has been part of the University of York teacher training team agt the time of application.

The panel felt this to be a well-organised and well-structured application. Given Helen’s experience, she was able to provide a range of examples of development of her own historical knowledge (e.g. Teacher Fellowship) and then contribution to others professional learning and building of networks for example through her work with York Clio, Euro Clio, Teaching History, the HA publication on medieval history, HA and SHP conferences and her role on HA Secondary Committee.
