Evidence gathering

Please read all documentation carefully and begin to gather and upload your evidence. 

Evidence submitted in your portfolio may include some/all of the following examples. This list is not exhaustive.

Applicants should think about providing evidence of… 

• The development of an extensive range of learning and teaching strategies e.g through samples of lesson plans, activities and resources.
• Knowledge of how to meet the learning needs of all pupils
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of assessment procedures in the subject at all levels
• Evidence of raising pupils’ attainment
• Development and assessment of on-line teaching resources
• Development and assessment of classroom-based research
• Coherent planning of lessons and schemes of work which support pupils’ progress over time, which are intellectually stimulating and involve the use of a range of resources
• Engagement of pupils in subject-based enrichment or extension activities
• Successful use of a range of formative assessment techniques
• Demonstration of impact on standards of teaching and learning in the subject
• Applicants will provide evidence that they have high expectations of learners, including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential, and to establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them.
• They will also provide evidence that they hold positive values and attitudes and adopt high standards of behaviour in their professional role and that they contribute significantly, where appropriate, to implementing workplace policies and practice and to promoting collective responsibility for their implementation.
• Evidence of chairing, attending or contributing to conferences/professional development sessions
• Writing articles or producing teaching resources
• Consultancy or voluntary work for subject-based associations or bodies
• Working with examination boards
• Attending relevant training courses
• Working for Master’s degree level credits
• Developing the use of IT in the subject
• Academic work (reading, reflection, publication)
• Acquisition of further postgraduate qualifications
• Substantial ongoing private research
• Leading or taking part in subject-based workshops/seminars/staff  development days
• Initiating and/or developing subject-related trips or organising subject-related activities or events, e.g. developing a departmental
• website or school history clubs/society/newsletter
• Mentoring PGCE students and/or NQTs or potential developing chartered teachers of history.
• Involvement in performance management of others
