Dr Megan Hunt (now Edinburgh) and Professor Brian Ward (Northumbria) discuss how they worked with primary and secondary school history teachers in Newcastle/North East England to research Martin Luther King’s place within the curricula and school textbooks, and to develop teaching materials with local teachers across subjects and key stages to commemorate King’s 1967 visit to Newcastle. In the recorded interview, Megan and Brian discuss the importance of collaborating with history teachers to produce resources and the value of building networks with local schools.
