The Covid-19 pandemic hit universities and university students hard, especially those making the transition from 6th form study. In addition to all the usual transitional concerns, lecturers and students had to navigate changed teaching and assessment practices. The remote learning that many students over the last 2 academic years have experienced may affect their readiness for university history and some of the changes to practice seen during the pandemic may change the way students experience university history in the longer term.

In this filmed discussion, Dr Marcus Collins of Loughborough University and Dr Kate Hill of the University of Lincoln discuss teaching history both at university and Key Stage 5 in a post covid world with two year 13 teachers, Heather Sherman and Debbie Bogard.

This film is a pre-cursor to further research being carried out into transition to university history in a post-covid world.
