Themes over time

Students should have the opportunity to study a broad sweep of British history through a theme or issue over time, from prehistory to present. Examples could include changing political power and organisation, changing landscape and land use, migration of peoples to and from the British Isles among other things. Alternatively, students might like to carry out a home-learning project on a specific aspect or turning point of British history before 1066, such as the Roman, Anglo-Saxon or Viking invasions; Britain's conversion to Christianity, the deveopment of the kindom of England, the development of farming in Britain or any other significant aspect before 1066.
