Subject Leader Development Programme (SLDP)
What is the Subject Leader Development Programme?
The Subject Leader Development Programme is an online course for developing subject leadership in secondary history teaching. Led by a team of 6 experienced subject leaders, including Hugh Richards, Sharon Aninakwa, Ruth Lingard, David Hibbert, Elizabeth Carr and Catherine Priggs, this course will equip history leaders fully for the demands of the role and middle leadership.
The course is divided into ‘themes,’ ‘units’ and ‘segments’ to ensure some cohesion whilst still enabling it to be accessed in smaller or larger chunks to suit different delegates.

The programme is partially self-directed consisting of 13 modules averaging at 2 modules a week over the course of 7-8 weeks. During the programme you will be part of a cohort and required to attend 3 Zoom meetings, including an assessment meeting. You’ll need to complete the assessment in order to be certificated.
Who can apply?
This programme is designed for teachers at any level of experience who. are aspiring to become a subject leader, have just been appointed as a subject leader or have are an experienced subject leader perhaps looking for fresh inspiration or direction.
What does it cost?
Registration for this Autumn programme is charged at £132 including VAT for HA members and £198 including VAT for non-members.
