How and why has warfare changed from the Battle of Hastings in 1066, fought with armed with swords and shields, to the weapons of mass destruction of today? This webinar with Andrew Wrenn considers significant turning points such as the impact of gunpowder in the Middle Ages and the development of the atomic bomb in 1945 at the end of the Second World War.
This series of webinars is designed to support teachers preparing the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum requirement for pupils to study either an overview of historical development from 1066 to the present or a significant turning point from that time frame. Each webinar gives an academic outline of the content supporting National Curriculum and Ofsted expectations for teaching in greater depth. The content is presented around rigorous historical enquiry questions linked to second order concepts of disciplinary knowledge.
