Ancient Civilisations
Many schools will be familiar with teaching Ancient Egypt, although Ancient Sumer, Indus Valley and the Shang dynasty of ancient China or indeed any other ancient civilisation may form a unit of study. The focus is upon the formation of early civilisations as well as their achievements for example in mathematics, government, trade, building and art. Ancient Greece should be studied separately with a focus on their influence on the western world.
