Wangari's Trees

Review by Gabriella, Westgate Primary School, Morecambe
My favourite character was Bonjeria because she was the person who led the plantation. I enjoyed learning that you had to get a different type of water to the plants to keep them alive and this made the book was exciting because when all the trees set on fire, they had to get a hose to save them! My favourite part was when the children slept in the tree to protest and save the tree. I would defiantly recommend this book because it's exciting and you get to learn more about trees. I learnt a new word ...Plantation!

Review by Bailey, Dallas Road Community Primary School Lancaster
I liked the fact that it was set in the woods, and I really liked the character Wangari because she was saving trees. I couldn’t believe that she had planted so many trees and this is so important for the planet. I would recommend this book to children in Y2/3 and especially my friend Bruno who loves history. I It was exciting, and a gripping read.
