By Professor Jonathan Phillips, published 25th February 2021
Between 26 February and 2 March you can watch Jonathan Phillips’s 2020 HA Virtual Conference keynote talk on The life and legend of the Sultan Saladin. Phillips’s talk reveals how a man initially branded as ‘the son of Satan’ became so esteemed in Europe and, through extensive new research, we will follow how his character and achievements have acted as a role model for generations across the Near East down to the present day. This talk is only available for a limited time for non-members so listen while you can! The recording will be permanently available online to HA members from 2 March onward.
