Mysteries of the Brunel Family
Event Type: Branch
Takes Place: 15th March 2025
Time: 11am
Venue: National Waterfront Museum, Swansea
Description: These are not ghost stories, or unsolved murders, but things that do, or once did, mystify Brunel historians. For instance, at which of Brunel's tunnels, almost two miles long, does the sun shine all the way through? Or, how do you really pronounce Brunel's first name? Some of these mysteries have now been resolved, some we accepted as answered (but without proof) and some, Glyn things, we will never know the answers to.

Lecturer: Glyn Williams
Comments: Purely by coincidence, when coming home from school on the top deck of our school bus, Glyn spotted a train which had just left Neath and was heading for Paddington. The locomotive pulling the train was named Isambard Kingdom Brunel. He had no idea whet
