The Bolton branch of the Historical Association has taken another step into the twenty-first century by joining social networking site Twitter.  This comes as a follow up to the branch's website and Facebook group, both of which are proving to be useful tools for communicating with the public.

The branch Twitter name is BoltonHistory and followers will receive updates on lectures and other branch news.  Secretary Jenni Hyde said "It is imperative that the branch keeps up to date on new ways to keep in touch with existing members and to encourage more people to become involved, even if they don't live locally.  The website has allowed lots of people to find out what we are doing, and the Facebook group has given people from all over the world a place to share their memories and ask for help with local history queries, as well as to find out about branch lectures on a wide variety of historical topics."
